3 DAYS MOUNT MERU CLIMBING

Overview

Mount Meru is located in Arusha about 70km away from Kilimanjaro Mountain. The second highest mountain in Tanzania and fifth in Africa at 4566masl. It is a stratovolcano which erupted four times and the last one being in 1910. You reach the summit in 3 to 4 days accompanied by armed and trained Park ranger. Important to carry are your water bottle, sun glasses and backpack.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day

Once arrives at Kilimanjaro International Airport our safari Guide will peak you to the Hotel in Arusha for meals and accommodation.

Day 2: Momela Gate to Miriakamba Huts

After early breakfast our safari Guide with picnic lunch boxes will take to Momela gate the starting point.
From here for about 4+ hours you will trek gently and less steep to the first stop the Miriakamba Huts. 

Explore the beauty of Arusha National Park along the route by looking and listening to the sound of colourful birds such as Turacos, Baboons, Giraffes, Blue Monkeys, Bushbucks, Elephants, and Buffalos.
Dinner and overnight at Miriakamba hut.

Day 3: Miriakamba Huts to Saddle Huts

After breakfast, we start new chapter by trekking to Saddle hut the second stop. This is a too steep part compared to the first part. 

On the way in clear day you see Mount Kilimanjaro over the clouds, Ash corn etc. In the afternoon after lunch you may decide to attempt climbing the little Meru peak and get back.
Dinner and overnight at Saddle hut

Day 4: Saddle Hut to Summit

Today you wake up very early and have a cup of tea before the summitting the Meru through the rocky path and once at the TOP enjoy the view of ARUSHA City in clear day.
After summit you will be back to Saddle hut for full breakfast and spend the rest of the day resting here.
Lunch, dinner, and overnight at Saddle hut.

Day 5: Saddle Hut to Momela Gate

After breakfast we descend by taking a short way to Momela gate through open grassland and mixed forest with our lunchboxes, great view of the Momela village and beyond. Then you will meet your car at the gate ready to drive back to your Lodge in Arusha for meals and accommodation.
