Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Early in the morning, another stunning day of Kilimanjaro Adventure starts. Wake up and enjoy a hot breakfast with your Guide. While getting breakfast your Guide will provide you with day tips to help understand how the whole day is going to be.

After breakfast, you start walking leaving behind the rainforest. You walk, traversing little water streams, going up a rocky ridge, quite steep, then turn west   to Shira camp site, where you are going to rest in camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

From Shira camp, you continue walking east up the ridge, passing the junction towards the Kibo peak. As you continue the direction changes to south east heading to Lava tower then to Barranco camp.

Today is a good day to acclimatize and experience the difference in altitudes in Kilimanjaro as climbers will be walking up to high altitude and sleeping at a low altitude at Barranco camp.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

After breakfast early in the morning, a hike up the Barranco wall starts heading to Karanga camp. We recommend you should leave the camp as early as possible so you can get enough time to rest after the wall.

Going up the wall is not difficult as it takes only one hour and half to reach the top. The Barranco wall gives a great chance to capture the best photos and a tremendous view of the Barranco valley.

Walking up to Karanga campsite which is 4670 meters above sea level is more of a climbing experience, and also serves as a preparation to hike the summit of Kilimanjaro. Walking time here varies from 4-5 hours of normal walk covering a distance of 5kms.

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Early morning after breakfast you start walking from Karanga campsite heading to Barafu campsite which is 4670 meters above sea level, a walk which will take you between 4-5 hours of normal walking to cover a distance of 5 kilometers. You will have lunch and dinner provided at Barafu campsite.

On this day you will have enough time to rest, acclimatize and prepare yourself for the summit hike in the early morning around 02:00am the next day.

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Around 02:00 am, a journey going up to the summit starts, led by your head Guide and the assistance Guide accompanied by experienced porters carrying light bags with your necessary items to use on the peak. Walking up to the summit is not an easy task to accomplish it is mental and physical challenging part of trekking.

At Stella point which is 5,756m you will have a short rest, and due to weather, you will be rewarded by the magnificent sunrise you ever have. From Stella Point, you may encounter snow all the way on your 1-hour ascent to the summit.

At Uhuru peak, you have reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa. Faster hikers will see the sunrise from the summit. From the summit, we now make our descent continuing straight down to the Mweka Hut camp site, stopping at Barafu for lunch.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

In the morning after breakfast we continue walking down to Mweka gate, to receive your Kilimanjaro climbing summit certificate. Normally at lower elevation the land is wet and slippery, it’s recommended to wear gaiters and use your walking poles just to support your body and avoid falling down.
